Hello, I've literally no experience in this, just a bored person with a toolset. My xbox randomly stopped working on us, the light would turn on but screen wouldn't show up. Then 30 sec to a min later it would power off. Nothing I tried worked, but today I went and picked up a busted xbox. That one is screwed entirely I believe, casing is dented and the heat sink looks like the outside of my ac unit when I was a kid. All that aside, I have been tinkering around and ended up swapping the hard drives. Suddenly my Xbox powers on with this 500gb hard drive but not my 1tb hard drive. I tried the offline update but it's not working for me. Has anyone experienced an issue such as this? I'd like to fix the 1tb but don't see how I could even access it if the Xbox won't power on with it plugged in. Maybe it's just bricked? What about updating the 500gb? Sorry for the long post I'm not good at these, but thank you for any advice!
