Hello. Trying to restore a 360 S that has been out of commission for a few years. When it went offline I'd been using it in a cabinet with inadequate ventilation, so I think I burned up the old HD, as I've had that happen on a previous console under different circumstances.
Right now, the console powers on and will sync with a controller, but gets stuck at the Xbox 360 logo screen. Here's a few things I've tried so far, all with the same results:
- Turn the console on and immediately open the disk tray (read that this would by pass plugins)
- Booted the console with a clean launch.ini file copied to the root of a flash drive plugged into the USB slot. (Tried the same file on 3 different USB devices, but found the file a random website, so not sure if there's a better one to use)
- Bought a new 500 GB internal HD, installed it, and tried the above steps again.
Does anyone have any further tips about possible next steps for debugging? TIA!
