Continuum Map

Phonology \"details\" of 1.3

Hello there (again)

I am here today to ask for help on making a few koine languages in a mountainous area of my world. But before we get there I would like to talk about the family in general, then about this specific branch of the family, and finally what I plan to with it.
SIDE INFORMATION (you may skip this paragraph): As form most of my conlangs in this early stage of my worldbuilding I do not have a name for it. I simply use numbers as a way to name them and track their descent. For example, the earliest ancestor is named 1, 1 has three branches (1.1, 1.2, and 1.3). I will use this system to refer to any of my conlangs (exceptions later in the post).

The family here is 1.3, for which I wanted a Slavic sound with some personal touch. This touch coming mostly in the nasal vowels, but also some minor details (which I will not go into detail now). The branch the dialect continuum will be a part is 1.3.1 and will be located in the mountains west to former homeland of the people. 1.1 will be mostly to the north (only later also to the northwest) and 1.2 in south (maybe later also in the southwest and west) of them.

I have not fully planed out 1.3.1 yet, but I will probably go into the direction of South Slavic (again with a personal touch). This proto-lang will most likely be short lived due to the terrain. As mentioned, I want to make this a dialect continuum (some of what will be where can be seen on the map). In the map black and white letters can be seen. Black indicates slightly more dominant dialects or regions where changes and shift come from while white ones are mixtures.

Before we get to what I want to do with that in the future I would like to elaborate the religious and economic situation at hand (you may skip this paragraph). In the far western regions of those mountains a different religion is dominant. The people in this area are also more dependant to the powerโ€™s west to them and to the trade with them. This kind of makes the odd ones out because everyone else aligns with their eastern neighbours.

So, what I want to do in the future of this world is have HIJ become first a trading language and then (slowly) the standard language in the region. The same goes for ABGH and BCDF and DFE. I am unsure if G would later play a role in DFE, but I would not be against that.

Thank you for reading and helping me with this in advance.

PS: will this be detailed enough? Also english is not my nativ language. I hope you all can understand me well.
