I'm pretty into conlanging, but lately I feel as though every language I think of just isn't interesting enough to warrant working on - what's interesting about a typical agglutinative/fusional in some cases language with particles to mark case? I mean, this is practically a hybrid of Turkish grammar in some cases and Japanese particles. Same with my other ideas, I just don't feel that they're really interesting enough.
I guess what I'm trying to say is - how do you guys make your languages more than just combinations of grammatical features across different languages?
