I am developing a fantasy setting which I want to have many diverse countries and languages to go with them. Most of the story I want to write will be across two or three continents, many different countries. As such, I've been developing the starts of several different languages and am quickly finding that I am in over my head. So far I have developed about 7 languages with more bound to be on the way. Some of these languages will not be that important/won't appear in text, I'm mostly using them to help develop the other languages naturalistically. I mainly worry that if I write myself into a corner and end up including too many languages that I will confuse readers or even myself. How many languages is the upper limit? should I reduce the scale of my story? I can answer details about the languages if that would be of help.
