I met a foreign girl on Okcupid who was on vacation around my area. We got talking and we agreed to meet once she'd visit my city in a few days time. Then the day came, we arranged to meet in the morning but I didn't show up because I had stayed up late the night before playing video games (I hadn't seen her message about meeting in the morning yet, I saw it at like 4 am that night).
I apologized profusely and actually told her the truth of what happened, she (rightfully) said she wasn't interested in meeting anymore. I replied that I wouldn't insist, and that at least I'd make sure to bring this experience with me so it doesn't happen again.
I've been coming from a period in which I've been letting myself go a bit and living in a messy way. If this doesn't serve as a wake up call to get my shit together, I don't know what will. Anytime I feel like letting things go I will remember that I disappointed a person for it and how it made me feel after.
