Is it my responsibility to keep in touch with my parents?
Post Body

I'm a 26 male and I moved about 1.5 hrs north from where my parents live, almost 3 years ago. We barely talk at all. They only call or text me to ask for something or to show up to certain birthdays or holidays to have dinner with the family, and even then we don't really talk at home.

A couple of days ago, my mom and my dad called me on separate occasions and said they haven't heard from me in a while. It has kind of stuck with me and now I'm worried that I need to be the one to reach out to them and say hi. They never ask to come visit me either. My mom has come to visit me twice, once with my whole family when I moved in, and a second time back in June. My dad has only visited me once. Do I need to be responsible to talk to them? I've told them to come visit me when we have dinner but they never follow up with me, so at this point I've just stopped talking.
