Raising money for charity during the World Cup
Post Body

The World Cup is only a couple of days away!

/r/CharitableBets is a win win sports betting sub where the loser has to donate the agreed upon dollar value to the winner's accredited charity of choice. Since inception there has been a shade under $5000 donated to over 100 organizations.

We have recently started a World Cup bracket challenge. Each entry costs $10 USD(or £6 GBP), and the winning entry gets the privilege to donate the entire pot to their favorite charitable organization. It is a fun way to remain engaged in the tournament, and allows for some amazing charitable donations. Here is a link to the challenge: http://www.reddit.com/r/CharitableBets/comments/260zs6/wc2014_world_cup_bracket_predictor_6_or_10_per/

If you feel like betting on a particular game, feel free to start your own thread. If you want to bet for your team to win it all, we have you covered as well. Simply start a thread with whatever bet you want to make, and a challenger will likely accept it shortly thereafter. This is a great way for you to support your favorite team, and help out some worthwhile charities.

Worst case scenario you support a noble cause and lose some cash but get the enjoyment of rooting for your team with something else on the line. Best case scenario your squad wins, and your charity gets a nice donation in your honor. Pretty badass double down if you ask me.
Please feel free to ask any questions and good luck in the World Cup! Thanks!
