Where to buy: Matrixgames or Steam?

Hi, I want to buy the games Armored Brigade and/or Strategic Command WWI, and I have the chance to buy either on matrixgames.com or steam.
Which store offers more advantages?
I think Matrix only lets you download until a few days after the purchase so I'd have to backup the files. Steam lets download any day, so I think it's an advantage (I'm not counting steam DRM as a negative point in this case because it's preferable to having to back up my file).
I think that's the only difference?
