I am referring to the new AI model that Nvidia spoke about recently. It seems as though this model can do several things like edge detection, OCR, depth mapping, etc. Does this bring us one step closer to opening up a program on our PCs, and being able to ask an AI for directions in a virtual 3-D space? Even being able to issue the command, “ hey AI, do you see a door on my screen?”
I’ve been sort of dreaming about some thing like this ever since I lost my eyesight back in 2021. I haven’t been able to play many of the games that I used to previously love like sea of thieves, path of exile, RuneScape, and many others because they just simply don’t have proper accessibility support. But I can imagine having a sophisticated Computervision model that could guide me to, let’s say, doorways in the case of sea if thieves, tell the AI to keep it size open for where my pirate ship may be located, ask questions like if I have any on spent passive skill points like in the case of path of exile, Etc. I hope the way I’m describing this makes sense, I’ve basically just been crossing my fingers each morning in hopes that I’ll see something new that might give me a fighting chance to play these games again, because I really love video games. I grew up playing them for many years, and other that has been taken away from me, I mainly just read the books now and watch audio described movies and shows.
So what do you guys think? Am I getting my hopes a little too high for this reveal today? Or is there some merit to what I’ve said here in this post? Thank you very much! And if any of you just so happen to be working on some thing that could do this, I would be over joyed to test it for you free of charge, every step of the way. I don’t care about money, I care about my happiness, and a part of my identity feels like it has sort of been robbed from me.
Sorry for the sort of mellow post, eager to see what you guys have to say!
