Several recent posts and comments have referred to having a soldering iron in your toolkit, or a soldering station on your workbench.
I'm just curious - what is it in a modern computer that you are able to solder? I used to do component-level repair for a living, and I still modify electric guitars from time to time, so my soldering skills are current and up-to-speed. But I can't remember the last time I soldered anything to do with a computer. I don't think modern laptops or even desktops have anything you can work on.
Yet apparently lots of people still have a soldering iron? What am I missing here?
