Good places to start for learning how to build computers?
Post Body

Hope Ok to post this here.

This isn't for me (it has been ages since I had started with basics) but for my brother.

He has had things a bit rough, and maybe mind is burnt a little and missing a few brain cells, but he is always seeing me work on computers and has shown an interest in learning himself.

I would try to teach him but I just do not have the patience needed.

Due to circumstances, going to the local college or non-profit for taking classes is out of the question.

So is there anything online that:

  1. Would allow him to start at the very basic level?

  2. Free?

  3. Can be done over the internet?

To give an idea of his current skill set, he thought a heatsink was a power supply and processor was heatsink.

So really need something that starts with the real basics.
