What happens to your original OS when you start using Linux?
Post Body

I have very little knowledge in computer science but I am really curious and think the field is super interesting. What happens to your original OS when you start running Linux? Im probably wrong but I think I heard some where that you can switch back to your og OS once you've installed Linux. When running Linux does it take more from your computer as far as power and memory?

Sorry I'm seriously such a beginner.
