Unable to format a hard drive,
Post Body

I got my sister a new hard drive for her computer after the linux partition on the drive randomly vanished, leaving only windows 10 but with some odd login problems (admin account vanished).

I connected the drive to my laptop and to my surprise the partition was still there jus for some reason not visible to her laptop. I copied the files she needed off that partion and then attempted to take the files she wanted off the windows half. I found them but as soon as i attemted to copy them accross the file manager crashed and upon reopening the drive the windows partion was now no longer visible. After alot of messing about and trying with both window and linux to access the drive slowly the other partitions vanished. I tried to look at the drive with Gparted only for it too to crash.

Finally i gave in and attemted to format it; Using windows file manager - it crashed. Tried to use py-imagers formatting option , again caused it to crash too.

TLDR: Whenever i try to acess/format the drive, the program im using to accsess the drive crashes if it helps the drives a 1TB slim WD Blue laptop hardrive
