Laptop screen randomly starts to totally flicker out while in use. Logging out/going into sleep mode fixes it instantly.

Post Body

64bit Windows, x64 based processor. 8gb of RAM. Intel Core i5 7th Gen

Got this laptop circa 2018 or 2019. Not sure how to find the model name or more specs (I'm currently looking at "About" in settings)

So basically as the title says, it'll be working perfectly and then just randomly the screen will go NUTS, flickering in and out as if you were turning the screen on and off super quickly. Jagged lines, kind of as well.

But in between "flutters" I'm still able to move the mouse and all that. If I close the lid and put it in sleep mode or am able to get logged out, it completely "fixes" it for a good while longer.

It may do it again in 30 minutes. It may not do it again for several days. It doesn't seem to make a difference how much is going on (it has happenned when just sitting there with almost nothing running). So I don't think it's related to "heavy usage"/RAM/whatever issues (but I'm not an expert, so who knows!)

It absolutely seems "random" when it occurs. I can't identify anything in particular that triggers it.

Worth it to note, it does NOT flicker AT ALL at the login screen. Never once (in about 50 instances now) has that ever occured. ITS STRICTLY HAPPENNING WHILE LOGGED IN.

Drivers and everything are up to date. The laptop sits in one spot on a desk and doesn't get moved.

Maybe this is just coincidence, but I do remember the first time this happenned was during a heavy thunder and lightning storm and I've heard that the electricity in the air (or something) can indeed cause screen issues, but it was only that one time. It happens now no matter what the weather or occurence.

Is there anyone that happens to have any idea at all what the issue could be? That laptop is in perfect working condition aside from this....

Thank you!!!
