So I have been doing some upgrades on my computer and one of the new upgrades I did a few months ago was obtain a new SSD for my PC. It’s a 2TB and runs very well. A buddy of mine recommended that I try to move my OS to my new SSD from my old one.
One issue I have had is my old one is a 512 sector and my new one is a 4060, or something along those lines. Mainly, I can’t clone directly from my old SSD to my new one. One tip I’ve seen is to create an image and put it on the new SSD. My main question though is, how can I safely boot up my computer from the image, after I put it on my SSD, and two: are there potential problems that can happen from doing it this way?
I know how to get to my bios, but I also use my computer for work and don’t want to accidentally screw it up by trying to reboot or load up my computer from a back up that won’t work.
