I got this graduate research assistant job. My supervisor told me to write a 25 page survey paper on a topic he gave me.
I am really not sure what I'm doing, the paper is already past the deadline, and I have 18 pages of literature reviews. Basically, I wrote a paragraph about a paper that is relevant to the topic I'm researching. I mostly read the abstract and the conclusion in those papers. Once I have a high level idea, I just write a paragraph about it.
One of my concerns is that I feel like the language in my paper is not "technical" enough. The papers that I find online are very technical, and for some of them, I don't rally understand them at all.
What are the best practices to write a research survey paper like this? Am I doing it correctly? Is there a better way to do this?
