Pet Waste and Flow Through Composting.

I was under the impression that pet waste could not be composted. But I was just on Uncle's Jim website and they sell a pet composter, so it is compostable?
Also; does any have experience with the aeroplus vs. thermoking vs. diy flow through composting system
** Tumblers are no longer an option with pending rotator cuff surgery & for aesthetic reasons others in the family do not want a "uncontained" compost pile **
