Hi all,
I would really appreciate some guidance from the community, particularly from people who have their own devices running Gaussian16 and Gaussview.
I don't think a rack server is an appropriate solution here, but I am looking at workstations with a high spec. For example, a threadripper with 64 cores and 256GB RAM... does anybody know if this sort of setup is appropriate for running multiple Gaussian jobs simultaneously with nprocshared=8 and mem=24GB?
Does anybody have a setup like this? I'm hoping to have the workstation sit in the corner of my office, and serve the purpose of me being able to sign in remotely with SSH and submit jobs remotely. I'm not super knowledgable on the server side of things, but I know this sort of thing is possible.
Like I said, I have a budget of £10k and realistically, I'm required to purchase from a main supplier e.g. DELL, HP or SCAN in the UK.
