Yes was removed for a reference that was gaslit into being racist. Chang dresses up as a black elf and is in full black paint and they deemed it black face (incorrectly imo)

Well the situation was that nbc was removing other shows episodes that had legitimate black face in it, and they caught a lot of flack for those episodes being around so then they basically got told that anybody who isn’t black that paints their face black is blackface. Which is not true. Not that this is a hill I want to die on or anything, but black face is like painting big red lips and only your face explicitly imitating a black person, where as Chang was all black head to toe with a white wig and pointed ears. But they were so scared to keep getting shit they removed it to be safe. I think that’s close enough to gaslighting. Either way though, episode is hilarious

Yes but if you just scroll through Netflix and find this show and start it, there’s no part of the description or episode listings that would make you think anything is missing is what I’m saying. Like what would prompt them to go torrent it if they don’t know it exists?

I’d say the angry mob “was seeking to gain power and control over the other person, by distorting reality and forcing them to question their own judgment and intuition.” Being as they only removed it because they didn’t want to get berated over other incidents again. But if I used the wrong word oh well. I’d say cancel culture has its fair share of gaslighters but again, whether blackface is or isn’t cool is definitely not the hill I wanna die on. Once upon a time there was. There was also a disclaimer at one point saying it wasn’t the complete series but on my 3rd rewatch recently neither are there anymore
