Help convincing a friend wage slavery exists and it's not in companies interests to always be ethical

My friend seems convinced that wage slavery is something most people can get out of. He is convinced most people in the USA could simply start their own business if they had a good idea. I told him how in places like Vietnam and certain african countries people are submitted to hard labor and have no other options and still starve to death for our benefit.
I need some statistics, arguments, and specific examples of wage slavery and the parasitic upper class.
