I wanted people's take on this subject because, within Hellenism and neopaganism, I've encountered so many interpretations and definitions of what communicating to the gods mean to them. I've also met people that have very different frequencies of "communicating" to the gods, from frequent to never.

I find it interesting how different we all are under the same umbrella. For me, I'm a simple recon and I actually don't claim to really communicate with the gods at all. But again, that's all in how you define communication, isn't it? Lol

I can feel the warmth and light from Helios, the pleasurable sensation of looking upon beauty with Aphrodite, goosebumps when listening music through Apollo's grace, etc. If that's what you mean when you communicate with the gods, then yes. If you mean signs from the gods directed towards me, and especially voices or UPG, then no. I'm even hesitant to interpret any "omens". I've encountered Hellenists that just refuse my personal account experience and tell me the gods are always communicating with me but "I'm just not listening or paying attention to the signs". But others criticisms of my praxis doesn't really matter to me anymore, considering I've been a Hellenist for quite a while though. That doesn't mean I don't feel close to the gods but I don't experience the gods the same way some Hellenists do, that's all. Idk if that's more of a reconstructionist thing or a "me" thing but it is what it is, lol.

So what about y'all? How do you communicate with the gods? In what manner and how frequently? And what do think of Hellenists/neopagan that don't communicate with the gods in the same way you do, or at all?
