So Old school big fan of the entire CnC genre, but Generals and ZH really have my heartstrings. That said, we also know that any level of revisiting the titles with remastering or sequels is simply not a thing we can put any stock into. The emulations and mods are fun to play, and some seriously good fan generated content is out there.
But does anyone have good rec's of games that are similar in nature? But are a bit more up to today's standards? I do enjoy a solid but not over-complicated RTS and honestly I loved the pacing and details and the attempts to be more realistic of units and near future tech that Generals and ZH represented back some 20 years ago.
Anything in today's titles worthy of exploring that won't take a pro-gamer to pick up and has a similar level of craft, fun attached to it?
