I've really been into going to cons for the past 3 years and don't know much about the industry. I've been to Wonder Con, SDCC, and Denver Comic Con so I've seen the difference between each. I'm so curious about how SLCC got to be a huge con. First, Utah is kind of a flyover state (despite being beautiful). This isn't an insult at all but I even consider Colorado one, however, Colorado at least has a major league football team. SLCC is definitely bigger than Denver Comic Con even though Denver is a bigger/more notable city. Second, the con runs from Thursday-Saturday for what I'm guessing is religious reasons. Still very weird in the con world. Third, this is a newer con. Yet they have pretty amazing guests from newer and older fandoms (Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan) and awesome events like live concerts. They also say they are the country's third largest con. How did they manage this? Does anyone have any insight? Also, has anyone been?
