In what ways are older comics (pre 2000) better than new comics in your opinion?
My example is that older comics weren’t written for trade paperbacks in the same way they are today. Many story arcs were two to four issues long with many issues being one shots separate from the rest of the arcs while still being good. Today almost every arc as far as Marvel and DC go seems to be six issues or longer even if the story itself doesn’t warrant that length.

Way more dialogue in older comics, plus captions explaining what's happening on panel. Sometimes too much tbh. But it does make each issue last longer.
