I'm a total newb to CC, although I've done some basic editing and minor CC on web based productions. Over the past few years I've moved into more live event production, and today I've got some free time sitting here next to a shader unit and some scopes hooked up to multiple box lens cameras.
So I can run the CCU/RCP through an auto level, auto black, and auto white balance. I can grasp using the Tektronix double diamond scope on a greyscale chart to get a straight line.
The question I have is, whenever I hear someone online speak of manually altering or setting the blacks, I often hear about adjusting the blue & red pedestal, as opposed to all three. Is there some reason that the green should remain un-adjusted, or am I just misinterpreting the data I'm taking in?
Again, I apologize for the newb question, I'm just trying to wrap my head around some concepts while I've got the free time and gear here.
Any information, aside from flaming me, would be much appreciated!
