Edit: I think explaining my idea is kind of distracting from the real question. Even if I had lots of fabric, I still don't understand how to put colors into bins. I see that a pure blue might be able to go in both summer and winter for example, but what about a gray-toned mauve? The undertone is cool, so does it go in summer? or is it unsaturated so it should go in some overlapping shoulder season?
I don't have a lot of variety of colors in my wardrobe, so I was going to get a set of color-aid cards to play around with instead. To "drape," I'd give a thumbs up/down/neutral on each color card. Then afterwards, I'd try to analyze & find some trends or maybe a season.
Problem is, I am terrible at identifying which colors belong to which seasons, aside from the most obvious. So I would have all these cards & not really know what each corresponds to. How do people learn how to do this?
Here's the set of colors included in the cards (screen colors will be different of course), and instructions/notes on them from the manufacturer (PDF). I think they have a code for which colors are considered warm/cool/etc., which is interesting and helpful, but I don't know how to apply it.
Thanks for any advice, resources, or pointers you can give!
