Had my first colonoscopy
Post Body

Hey all,

I am a 39 year old male who's digestion system literally shut down around May of 2020. Height of the pandemic. It was like one minute I was fine and then the next I couldn't go at all. Eventually I learned that metamucil allowed me to poop and i had to use it two times a day to have a bowel movement. Eventually i was able to take metamucil every three days. If i stop taking it i can use it but its alway incomplete and the stool are less bulky and more wet than dry. Always different forms. Never pencil thin. What concerns me most is the discomfort on my upper right quadrant. It comes and goes daily but it feels like something is there. When I eat and especially flare up when I have a bowel movement.

I read online about my symptoms and I was really terrified and anxious. The colonoscopy was today to rule out colon cancer. I opted for that before any test beyoned blood test. The internet can be a horible thing when dealing with medical questions.

My prep was two laxative pills and three 32oz bottles of Gatorade mixed with 7 caps of miralax per bottle. Man, that was the worst thing I've ever had to deal with. I was on the toilet all night. Lost 3lbs.

When I went in I was terrified not only for the results but the sedation. I really wanted to be awake because I've never been sedated. Wow! Didn't even know I was sleep. Just remember waking up. Best sleep of my life.

I was very fortunate that my colon came back clean and I've got a new found view on life after this scare. Treat people better. Love people more.
