My mom has stage IV appendiceal cancer and had a colon resection last summer. Since then she's had lots of gut issues - mostly diarrhea but sometimes it's hard to go (though the stool is still soft) and her abdomen feels hard and painful.

She's really reluctant to take any big pain meds because she doesn't want to be constipated, but now she just suffers through with the help of tylenol and some medical marijuana. Does anyone have any advice on pain meds that don't constipate? Or how to counteract the constipation from opioids? Since she's had so much diarrhea she is also reluctant to take a stool softener if she gets constipated...it's such a lose lose situation 😞
