Hello everyone,
I wanted to just share our success story hoping this will help you to fight through whatever stage you're going through.
Last year in late March my mother (67) was diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer. It was a rough 2 weeks because at the emergency they told us they have a suspicion for metastasis but couldn't confirm. We've got to know the stage after surgery where they removed the tumor and a portion of her colon. There were no lymph nodes involved but she had a tumor deposit in abdominal cavity.
1.5 months after surgery she decided to do FOLFOX chemotherapy to reduce chances of this disease coming back. She completed 7 out of 12 cycles. Was it a right decision to not finish? Only God knows.. she couldn't handle it anymore and decided to end the chemo and all I can do is support her decision.
Well, today was exactly our 1 year visit and since the surgery she has been NED, all her 6 month CT scans are clear, signatera blood draws clear. Everything is good. We are living a normal life again, except that I always have scanxiety before our follow up appointment at the oncology. Surprisingly mother has good faith and is never nervous. All her tingling and neuropathy is slowly going away too.
I just want to wish everyone who is going to this much health and strength. You can, and you will get through this!!
