I am a college professor and I am curious to know what my students wish that I knew about them. I mean like what is going on with your lives that they think I don't understand. And with that, how can I better help my students? Some background about me, I am about as privileged as they get. Also, academics were incredibly easy for me and I did not struggle with content until I was in graduate school.
I am hoping this information will make me a better faculty member. I do deeply care for my students. I try to set them up to pass my class and future classes. I am also mindful of how many people have issues meeting their basic needs.
I posted this before on another forum and a few students said no homework. I mean that sounds good and all but I need to teach major's classes and without homework then I need to base the grades on tests only. If you have an idea that means the same content to be taught and assessed, I am open to suggestions.
Let me know what you think.
