I'm starting my second year of uni and moved into a house with a few friends I met on residence during my first year. I only really realized during the moving process how far I actually was. I intentionally picked a university that was far from anyone I ever knew and my immediate family because I wanted a fresh start. But being back home for the summer also kind of reminded me why I wanted to move so far (4 1/2 to 5 hour drive) in the first place.
I decided to ask this here because I was curious if anyone else intentionally chose somewhere far and reasons why.
