I am trying to become a teacher and majoring in Elementary Education. I live in Massachusetts and am a junior at Bridgewater State University. Bridgewater forces their eled majors to dual major in another subject. This was not expressed to me when I was enrolling my freshman year. I am 90% done with my 1st major, but I am not allowed to take my final classes until my 2nd major is complete as well as all of my MTEL's (required teacher certifications completed by taking very difficult tests).
I have been trying to find a different school in Mass where I can get my bachelors without completing a second major, but I haven't found anything. I know that this is not a requirement for other states. I also am fearing that if I do find a different school, my credits may not transfer as I would hope.
I am hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction. I know that I can complete all that I need to at BSU, but I'm really hoping that someone has gone through something similar so that I don't need to spend more time and money at a place that I want to leave ASAP.
