God, I miss college.

Post Body

I’ve only been back in the real world for almost a year now, graduated last December with a BS in psych.

I had it so good, being able to attend school full time without working at all for the entire 2 years it took to graduate thanks to the GI Bill. I was planning on going to grad school, but I missed the deadlines since finding employment (sadly) took priority (and a long time).

I miss the professors, the overpriced textbooks, the lecture halls and auditoriums, the stress of a make or break final exam, the thrill of needing 10 more pages of a 30 page essay due in the next couple hours, the hustle and bustle of campus in between classes, sitting out by the ocean on those lawn chairs (our campus was on a peninsula), and most of all, learning. I hated anything education related in high school and did terribly as a result.

After the Army, I matured and a newfound appreciation for learning was born. I believe what made the learning truly fun and why I want to go into research with grad school, was not having to work and being able to completely dive into the subjects and classwork that interested me. I envy you guys as the prep for finals comes underway soon enough. Maybe I’ll be back at it sooner than later:)
