Professor was gracious enough to give me an Incomplete- now she won’t reply?

Post Body

I’m currently in my senior year working toward a PoliSci BA. I should be graduating next semester after taking 2-3 more courses. Last semester, I had some incredibly painful and honestly ridiculous personal issues happen. I’ve always been a straight A student, and responsive/interactive with my classmates and professors.

Last semester, I admittedly fell behind in one particular course because of these personal issues and the fact that the course in question had very few assignments. I emailed my professor throughout the semester, and she was very kind, but ultimately so busy with personal stuff herself that she’d often fail to respond to multiple emails, cancel scheduled meetings with me and etc. Not at all blaming her for initially falling behind, but also never got the chance to catch up.

I ended the semester with two options: pursue an incomplete or accept the D I’d earned. She admitted to being hesitant to offering Incompletes as she said students rarely follow through. I told her I’d love to pursue that, but ultimately would accept whatever she felt best. She never responded, but assigned me an Incomplete. I don’t want to harass her, but I have periodically emailed her about 3 times to ask what she needs from me next. No response. I’m now fearing the semester will end and that I will turn into an F. Maybe I should’ve just taken the D, but I know I can and always have done better.

Any advice???
