Is Peter Thiel a collapsist? Could one say that he's a optimistic collapsist?
Post Body

Peter Thiel, the founder of PayPal and Palantir, the legendary venture capitalist that invested in SpaceX and Facebook. His book, Zero to One, is a must read for anyone that want to understand how technological revolutions happen.

Right now, there many videos of him saying that science has stagnated and that venture capital, instead of making bold investments like funding Intel and Genentech in the past, are now funding the next dating app or something else commonly useless.

But as a venture capitalist, he's a believer and he continues to write checks for companies doing real work and creating true progress. Companies like SpaceX, Anduril, Flexport, Scale, DeepMind, Twilio, Oculus...

His manifesto, here, is a must read and discuss the things I said here: https://foundersfund.com/the-future/

This video here talks about stagnation too: https://youtu.be/nHXEjdYwoYE

I know many here believe that the collapse is inevitable and I truly respect then for that. But I think I'd like to devote my life to work with things that are able to address the collapse (probably biotech, the next lag of progress?).

My question so is for those that know Peter Thiel. Can one say that he's a collapsist? And what do you think one should do to help humanity face the collapse?
