I'm a shitty paid Jr programmer. Like... really shitty. First job been here almost 2 years. It's time to start looking for another job for a pay bump. Lots of upward potential in tech.
But I'm eyeing freelance work as a possibility. I know when things get bad the owners will look out for themselves first. Not afraid to fuck their employees. So.. I guess security isn't really a selling point.
But its like 1/10 businesses survive in non apocalyptic scenarios.
So I've been going back and forth on whether I should just zero in on a skill and try to make as much as I can as an employee or if it'd be better to be self employed and try to do the whole business thing.
Anyone thought about ideal employment situations during a collapse? If you can make self employment work at least you can try to roll with the punches better.
Idk. What do you think?
