I am unclear and quite baffled by this community’s disinclination to comment on things like the American political situation. The number of people that suggest that trump is a symptom, or that politics is just the frivolous noise in the face of true eco-collapse seems bizarre. I mean how do we think the next five months play out, just looking at completely objective evidence?
Trump is a compromised Russian asset. Let’s assume this is incontrovertible (people will argue and I will provide 100s of documents to explain the situation if it’s really necessary at this point).
Trump is about to get hit with charges that spell out his and his family’s involvement.
He will not go down without a fight (obviously, he either gets to continue being the most powerful man in the world, or he loses his entire empire while he and his family and friends rot in jail). He has compromised allies like Nunes, McDonnell, Graham and others, along with a rabidly, cultish and militant following.
The only way the rule of law holds up in any tenable way— the only way actual justice is served that allows the country to keep functioning is if both trump and pence are removed and if Pelosi is made president. How hard do you think the right will push back against that?
This is an inescapable recipe for both complete social and political chaos, as well as something that harbors the potential to get us into a major war (as a distraction or to sew chaos for Putin or even just as eventual retaliation for hijacking our election).
There is a high likelihood of a complete and total breakdown of the American political system in the coming months that will lead to immediate global disorder and all the calamity that comes with it. Why does collapse not deem this a worthwhile topic?
