Hi everyone! My siblings and I have just inherited a large-ish collection of coins that range across periods/geographies (US, British Empire, China, French Empire etc.) None of us really know that much about coin collecting, but are interested in learning enough so that we can decide what to do with the collection. Iām wondering if thereās a good place for us to find a basic glossary of terms (e.g. āgradingā, āobverseā, common abbreviations/acronyms), and perhaps a list of critical names (designers? from what Iāve gathered?) for us to look out for.
Sorry if this has been asked many times before! I checked the FAQ but the glossary is mostly just for this sub, and I didnāt see a link to a specific resource about more global terms/language. Numista also doesnāt seem to have a glossary (or I couldnāt find it).
Thanks!
