Dear Reddit,
I am here to humbly request your services. I am but a humble magpie who this morning awoke with the thought of getting into coin collecting.
why?
I am a life long collector of bits and bobs and a rather serious history nerd. I reckon that left me with two options, War memorabilia or coins, being a pacifist the first option is rather irksome so here I am.
Now to get to the meat and potatoes of the post, I have already signed myself up for a Biddr account and its been the most fun I've had in a number of years. I could probably find a local coin store and get these questions answered but I've got way too much social anxiety for that level of in person dialogue. So I turn to you good sirs, madams, and anyone else who may find my humble post.
what is the best way to store and/or display said bits and bobs if I manage to win any auctions ( fate has been a cruel mistress today)
- are there any must have hard copy resources that one should have?
- are there any vendors on Biddr I should avoid?
- are reliable online shops a thing in this world?
- how can you tell that something is an obvious fake?
- is there anything I'm clearly forgetting?
- and most importantly, how are y'all not broke?
Any information would be greatly appreciated and I love each and every one of you. Muah!
Signed,
Bearjew.
