Seeking Advice. Building our Home Bar.
Post Body

So my SO and I have started building up our home bar, usually we would just buy a bottle of bourbon and it would last a few days, but this time we want to give it a real go.

Currently we have said Bourbon, a bottle of Malört (personal fav), a couple of bottles of flavored vodka (a misguided Xmas gift from a well intentioned younger brother), a bottle of Dolin Rouge, Ango, Regans Orange, Peychauds, and some simple. Pretty much just enough supplies for the Old Fashioned and the Manhattan.

We're pretty well set on tools, at least when it comes to the basics. Couple of shaker tins, jiggers (hoping to go Japanese soon), Mixing Glass, julep strainer, Hawthorne strainer, Mixing spoon, Lemon/Lime Juicer, Y-peeler, wine key, bottle openers. Currently no pour spouts, no muddler, no fine mesh cocktail strainer, and no channel knife.

Our glass game is pretty weak. Two shot glasses, two small rocks glasses (for neat pours), and two larger rocks glasses (for highballs and cocktails served down).

My struggle is we don't have a ton of money and there are so many things to buy I barely know where to start.

My plan was to get Campari next, then Beefeater Gin, then Dolin Dry. That would open up the Boulevardier, then the Negroni, then Martinis. I'm not even sure if this is the right way to go.

We don't want to buy Well, but we don't want to break the bank on a single bottle of top shelf. We're both into booze forward classic cocktails.

Any advice would be more than welcome. I'm just trying to maximize any purchase going forward. Thanks!

Edit: Added fine mesh strainer to the missing tools.
