You're trying out a new cocktail bar, and things look promising. Fairly diverse selection of wine, spirits, and liquors, and even some interesting syrups on their cocktail menu. The spirits menu is pretty evenly spread out between whiskey, tequila/mezcal, gin, and a few brandy selections as well. A couple heavy hitters, lots of standbys, and some you don't recognize. They say they're happy to go off menu if you would like, and you want to test them in their techniques and ingredents through a few drinks that aren't overly complicated, obnoxious to make, or obscure, but will tell a lot about the thought they put into their style and curation.
What cocktails do you order?
Trust the bar program before the bartender. If the program ain’t good the bartender can’t fix that. But a good program can make a better bartender
