Never really knew the history of Juneteenth. Vaguely knew that it was related to the emancipation of slaves in the US. But today I saw it on my desk calendar and then sent my staff home. Who doesn’t love a half day at work? Anyways, it was also a prefect time to go skiing in the office with no one bothering me. So now I’m listening to music. Oh and yes I did read up on Wikipedia the history of Juneteenth. It’s celebrating the day that federal troops finally made it to Texas at the end of the civil war. Among other things they announced that the emancipation proclamation ordered by Lincoln was in effect and Texas slaves were free. Happy Juneteenth y’all.
