What do you do when traveling?

Helloooo fellow skiiers, I’m planning a trip to Oregon next month, and would love to hit the slopes. The only problem is I’m traveling by plane and concerned about my gear. I’m curious as to what my fellow skiiers do if they’re traveling / on vacation? Do you just leave it at home? Try to find a gear plug where your at? Risk it via plane? Help would be appreciated as I’ve got about a month to prepare, Open to PM as well.
