There is really no way to build into this topic. Here are 4 great moments from season 5 of Cobra Kai.

#1. Robby and Sam help out Johnny and Amanda respectively in a fight.

This was two moments but it is pretty great.

As soon as Robby realized the real reason why he and his father where in Mexico, Johnny was okay with Robby leaving. Robby choose not to. It is unclear why, but we can assume it was because he wanted to make sure Miguel was okay. He and Miguel do not see eye to eye, but he probably wants Miguel to live. The very guys who stole money from Miguel earlier that episode try to steal from Johnny but he has lightning quick reflexes. He grabs his wallet back. When a guy attempts to sneak up behind Johnny Robby stops the thief dead in his tracks. These robbers are no match for this epic father son duo.

When Amanda, Sam and Anthony visit Amanda’s cousin Jessica Andrews in Ohio, they end up in a tavern, where Amanda crosses paths with some ladies from high school, including Elizabeth-Anne Rooney. Rooney and her goons are mad at Amanda for literally no reason. These women gang up on Amanda. They physically grab and restrain Amanda’s limbs to prevent her from fending off an attack from Rooney. It is bad enough that these women attacked Amanda over absolutely nothing, they are cheating. Sam is a force to be reckoned with; even with Rooney and her bitches cheating, Sam still prevails, swoops in and stops Rooney dead in her tracks.

#2: Kenny sacrifices Kyler AND Tory does not sacrifice Devon.

During an exercise, Kenny and Kyler act as a duo and square off against sensei Odell. Tory and Devon square off against sensei Kim.

Initially, Kenny fallaciously assumes that Kyler is the leader. Realizing that Kenny is clearly the alpha male, Silver pulls Kenny aside and lectures Kenny about the importance of following your instincts. This makes Kenny realize that he can be the leader if he is up to the task. When sensei Odell launches a no mercy attack on Kyler, Kenny steps on Kyler to strike Odell and score a point.

Tory has an opportunity to sacrifice Devon the way that Kenny sacrificed Kyler, but Tory forgoes that opportunity. Tory and Devon already bonded over their respective mommy issues. Tory acted like a big sister to Devon.

Tory and Kenny both faced a similar dilemma. They both had to decide which is more important, scoring a point or protecting your follower. Because we hate Kyler so much, most of us are okay with Kyler being sacrificed. However, Devon is likeable. She is adorable and innocent but she also has an assertive feisty side. That is why most of us do not want her to be sacrificed, even if she is okay with it.

#3: Anthony is the brains of Miyagi-Fang.

In the episode Bad Eggs, Chozen does an exercise where each student is given an egg and they have to protect it while Chozen tries to take the egg and crack it. Although Miguel is the last student left with his eggs uncracked, even Miguel’s egg is cracked eventually. Sam put her egg in her hood and Chozen took it without her knowing.

When the students do the exercise a second time, it is Anthony who realises that what they should do is place the eggs together and join forces to protect the egg. Anthony is the only member of the dojo who is so inexperienced he hasn’t even been taught was on wax off yet. However, what he lacks in fighting prowess and experience, he makes up for in brilliant strategy.

#4: The necklace tips Sam off.

When Miguel returns from Mexico, Demetri makes him realize that buying Sam jewelery would be the best way to make up for what happened. Demetri realized this, while Eli and Miguel did not. How is this? Is it because of his experience with relationships. Eli has had as many girlfriends as Demetri has. Miguel has dated a total of two girls, which is more than Demetri or Eli. The reason why Demetri was smart enough to realize what a great choice it would be to buy Sam that necklace was because of Demetri’s friendship with Sam.

By the time that Miguel goes to give Sam the necklace, Sam has decided to give up on the relationship. Miguel drops the necklace. Several episodes later, Sam finds the necklace, making her realize that she wants to be with Miguel. When Sam goes to talk to Miguel, Miguel is making out with another girl. In the end, all goes well, Miguel and Sam reunite.
