Little rant. I worked at a hospital for two years as NAC same as a CNA. That place wasn't that bad or the floor I worked. Nurses did vitals and such. I worked Ortho and really liked Ortho. I think I got lucky with the hospital and floor. I met my fiance there as well. Well we are currently doing a contract in western Washington. And man. It sucks. Like the pay is okay per week. But this contract so far has put me in a position to not be a CNA again after this. The floor I work on we have to do so much including vitals. I feel like nurses should be doing vitals. I work nights and from 7pm to 11 pm it's not bad usually have 8 to 9 patients. But from 11 to 7 is ridiculous. Q4 VITALS. Q1 VITALS for admins. And you get from 8 to around 15 patients and have to do vitals for everyone and daily weights. On top of that, Nurses do butt shit. Literally pass meds and sit on their asses. It's pretty ridiculous. I get it, It's my job. But some team work would keep people at the job. It's not worth it for the amount of pay especially non travelers. And the hospital setting I'm burnt out. I love taking care of people, But man I'm done. We are gonna take a phlebotomist class before our contract is up and go back home and do that. Rant over
