SaskPoliticker Addressed Teachers and Students Rallying for Education at an Event in Saskatoon During Noon-Hour Job Action.

“It’s time to fund our schools and put it in the contract. Saskatchewan students are being left behind, by a Government stuck in the past, the same kind of Government that our CCF team is fighting to prevent in Ottawa. Enough is enough, it’s time we stop hanging our students, our children, our future out to dry. It’s time we gave teachers the funding, respect, and supports they need to deliver a brighter tomorrow for us all.”

“Education is provincial jurisdiction, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take action to support teachers in Ottawa. If our fiscal situation comes in strong this year, a CCF Government would establish the Canada Education Transfer, tying federal per-student funding into contracts signed with both provincial Governments and Teachers Federations.”

“This will serve two purposes:

1. We will force the provincial Government to work with Teachers to increase federal funding.

2. We will deliver more for our students across Canada and create an even playing field in education so that no Canadian student is left behind.”

“This, in addition to our reigning in inflation and cutting taxes, while guaranteeing basic income, while see educational outcomes shoot up across Canada. This is the best place to live and raise a family, and also the best place to learn. Friends, let’s fight for education and send a CCF Government to Ottawa!”
