As the campaign begins in Central Ontario, PoliticoBailey has arrived in Barrie to speak before the media in advance of the Pirate campaign official launch

Good afternoon everyone, it’s good to be here before the launch of our campaign in Central Ontario. As you are likely to be aware - after a brief detour in Quebec - I have arrived back here to announce that I am indeed putting my name forward once again to be the Member of Parliament for Central Ontario. This will be my third time standing to represent this riding as your voice, and I’m sure that there’ll be an exciting race here over the course of the campaign. In the previous general election, we were able to gain a large amount of support and faith from the public, and we hope to build upon that in the upcoming days of campaigning.

Once again, Central Ontario will be a unique seat in terms of the choice before voters. There are only two candidates standing for election, the Liberal candidate - and myself on behalf of the Pirate Party. Indeed, as we’ve seen in the recent weeks and days, people across Canada are calling out for change from Quebec to Ontario. We’ve seen that today more notably, with your previous Member of Parliament - who’s resignation caused this by-election - leaving the Liberal Party because they simply aren’t delivering.

There will be much more to say throughout the campaign itself, but the Pirate Party are once again standing up for the people of Central Ontario with an alternative vision from the course that we currently find ourselves pursuing. The people from Barrie and across the riding can be assured that they will always find the representation they need from the Pirate Party.
