PoliticoBailey has arrived at a press conference to address claims that his corpse is to be paraded around by the Pirate Party in the Laval-Gatineau-North Shore by-election with hopes to waste a parliamentary seat

Good evening, thank you for being here. I was interested, when having some time to review recent press releases, to read an article which claimed that Mx Avtron, the Pirate Party Leader, would be hoping to waste a seat in Parliament by parading my corpse around Laval-Gatineau-North Shore and seeking victory in the impending by-election.

There are also claims that the Pirate Party are neglecting the needs of the Canadian people by not addressing important issues such as healthcare and housing. Contrary to this claim, the Pirate Party have stood successively on pledges that would address the needs of the Canadian people and deliver comprehensive change for them, their family, and their community. That won’t change in future campaigns, and certainly not in the by-election that will elect a new Member of Parliament for Laval-Gatineau-North Shore.

Indeed, I can confirm that I will be the candidate for the Pirate Party! Although I dispute the claims that have been made surrounding this. Rather than parading my corpse around to gain votes and waste a parliamentary seat, I’ll be an alive and active candidate and Member of Parliament, with a platform to deliver the transformative governance that the Canadian people need and deserve. I thank “Shipwrecked” for providing me an opportunity and platform to announce my candidacy, and to spread the Pirate vision more than I believe they would like us to!
