TLDR: We went once and are considering trying it again.
We're regulars at M4 and have attended most nights (usually Saturdays but have been at the club on every night of the week and some day parties - excluding the Sunday afternoon gangbangs). The Descent into Darkness event was the only one we couldn't "find our footing" at. The library area is lit enough to meet/chat with people but almost all attendees congregate in the play area - which isn't lit and offers no easy way to interact with others. As we walked through the play room, we saw many who were playing or roaming around (like us) but it was like passing ships in the night - almost impossible to gauge compatability or interest.
We do plan on trying it out again and adjusting our approach. We usually arrive late to M4 - this doesn't work for darkness events so we would get there early enough to meet people at the library/in the change room. We usually come to the club alone - were strongly considering an organized outing with other lifestyle friends so we can arrive, socialize and play within our group - allowing others to find us and engage us for "extra fun".
We'd love to hear more ideas on how to make a success out of this event, which sounds like fun on paper but was difficult to navigate in practice.
